Abstract

Gloves made of rubber are considered one of the most frequent causes of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD). Health care workers are the usual sufferers of such contact dermatitis.  Several chemicals can cause this ACD like latex itself or chemicals that are used in the processing of rubber. Though contact dermatitis (CD) can develop due to any of these chemicals; however, rubber accelerators seem to be the most common culprits. In this article, we report a case of erythema multiforme (EM) like contact dermatitis due to rubber gloves in a laundry worker which is a very rare manifestation of non-eczematous contact dermatitis. Despite our meticulous research on the topic, we could find only three such cases that have been reported before.
