Background Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory disease that causes disability and reduces the patient's quality of life. It is a public health challenge because of its serious comorbidities and debilitating component. Methods A retrospective study was done in 2020 at Azfalipour Hospital, Kerman, Iran. All patients hospitalized at this referral hospital from 2015 to 2020 were studied in terms of their demographic data (age, gender, educational status), past medical history, family history, drug history, age at the onset of disease, first presentation of disease, type of psoriasis, body mass index, season of hospitalization, and duration of disease. Results This study examined the 100 patients with psoriasis, with a mean age of 43.67±17.59 years. Nearly two-thirds of the patients were over 25 years old, with the largest age group being patients aged over 55. The longest duration of psoriasis involvement was <10 years. The most common type of lesion in psoriasis patients was the plaque type, followed by the pustular type. The mean age of onset was 35.39±18.32 years, and the most common comorbidity was hypertension. Conclusion The most common type of psoriasis lesions was the plaque type, with a high prevalence in the upper extremities. Nail involvement was seen in half of the patients, while the incidence of oral mucosal involvement was lower than expected. We found normal BMI, viral markers, and lipid profiles in most patients.References
