Abstract

Primary cutaneous CD4+ small to medium T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder is rare, accounting for only 2-3% of all primary cutaneous lymphomas. Patients usually present in their 50s with a rapidly growing yet asymptomatic nodule on the face or neck. This report describes the case of a 50-year-old man with an asymptomatic, small, round nodule on his temple area appearing in the preceding two months without any systemic involvement. Surgical excision was done, and histopathological and immunohistochemical studies revealed high infiltration of CD4+ lymphocytes in the dermis, confirming the diagnosis of primary cutaneous CD4+ small to medium T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. An excellent outcome was achieved, with no signs of recurrence after two months of follow-up. As the disease is often overlooked in the differential diagnoses of sudden-onset, rapidly growing lesions, this report reminds physicians to keep it in mind and avoid unnecessary aggressive interventions.
